Meet the Teacher

Chris and I on the Sundew

Hi! I'm Miss Rowland, the 2nd grade teacher at Wrenshall. This will be my fifth year in the Wrenshall district! Where has the time gone? It seems like just the other day I was starting my first year teaching in this wonderful community.

Just a bit about me...

I grew up in Mora, Minnesota. I moved to Duluth to attend UMD where I completed my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I liked the Northland so much that I decided to stay! I am currently working on my Masters of Education in Teaching & Learning from Saint Mary's University. I am looking forward to the completion of this degree in May!

My boyfriend Chris and I have been together now for almost 8 years, and we have two "children" who have four paws! Maddie, our yellow lab, is just over 4 months old. She has kept us very busy this summer! Emma, our orange tabby cat, is turning twelve this year. They both make me smile every single day! I also enjoy and value having pets in my classroom each year. It is amazing what we can all learn from watching and interacting with animals!

When I'm not teaching, you can find me keeping busy outdoors, or curled up with a good book. In the summer I love to work in the yard and garden, spend time on our boat on Lake Superior, read everything I can get my hands on, and go to lots of garage sales! I also enjoy running and will be coaching Cross Country for the fourth season, so you might see me run by with the team!

I feel at home in a busy classroom, buzzing with activity. I just cannot imagine spending my days any other way. I am looking forward to the upcoming year, and I can't wait to get to know all of you.

Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
